The Series 1970 Drive-chek is a multi-purpose sub-base that is mounted under a chain or belt driven mechanism. The unit serves three purposes; namely, a broken chain or belt detector, a chain or belt tightener, and a shock and vibration isolator.

The Series 1980 Micro-Adjust Rotating Cam Limit Switch is a pilot device used for heavy duty material handling mechanisms, mechanical presses, packaging machines, rotary tables, and in many other applications where repetitive and sequential operations are required in control circuitry. When motion is expressed in shaft rotation, either thru a roller chain, gear train, or directly, the Rotating Cam Limit Switch makes it possible to open or close independent circuits at any desired angular positions. The Series 1980R combines a resolver based signal off of the existing camshaft. Many press operations are now being fitted with automation equipment that requires limit switch outputs. Primary Standard
Deadweight Testers are the basic primary standard for the accurate measurement of pressure. Chandler Testers are used to measure the pressure exerted by gas or liquid and can also generate a test pressure for the calibration of pressure gauges, electronic pressure calibrators, transducers, transmitters, recorders, etc. No other device can match the stability, repeatability and accuracy of the Deadweight Tester.

Operation
The Chandler Engineering Deadweight Tester utilizes the well proven piston system consisting of a vertically mounted precision lapped stainless steel piston and sleeve with a metal to metal seal. This superior design eliminates friction and oil leakage created by o-ring seals used in lower cost testers. A buRed Barle level and adjustable feet are provided to enable the operator to level the instrument.

High Sensitivity
When the weights are applied to the piston, the entire assembly is rotated slowly. This rotation minimizes frictional effects and permits vertical motion of the piston with extremely small variation in pressure. Measurements to 1/10 psi (1 kPa) can be made.

High Accuracy
Deadweight Testers blend ruggedness with high accuracy. Variations over time typical of strain gauges or spring gauges are illuminated. Their operation depends only on balancing known weights against the force exerted by an unknown pressure acting on a piston of precisely known area. The weights are applied manually until the piston is floating with no net vertical movement. Each piston's area is determined by comparison against a piston of known area traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology. The mass of the balancing weights is also traceable to NIST.

Rotron centrifugal blowers are compact, sturdy, and relatively light in weight. They are designed for high performance while providig a long, maintenance-free life. Most models are available for either clockwise or counter­clockwise rotation, and in either simplex or duplex types. Models are available with 50/60 or 400 Hz AC motors.

Centrifugal blowers develop high pressure-to-volume performance at low rotational speeds for quiet cooling of tightly packaged electronic equipment under severe environmental conditions in airborne, ground based, and shipboard applications. 

Simplex blowers have 1 squirrel cage impeller wheel while  Duplex blowers have 2 squirrel cage impeller wheels mounted on a common shaft - both are available for either clockwise or counterclockwise rotation. Duplex blowers simplify ductwork and allow greater volume performance in tight locations.  As with all squirrel cage blowers, air enters axially and exits tangentially, making a 90 degree turn.

Coefficient of Friction Tester for Accurate Measurement of Static and Kinetic Coefficient of Friction

The Lloyd Instruments FTPlus coefficient of friction tester accurately measures static and kinetic coefficient of friction.  These values are of importance in a wide range of industries including blown film, plastic sheet, paper, packaging and coating manufacture. 

The FTPlus is a stand alone friction tester conforming to the requirements of ASTM D1894, ISO 8295 and TAPPI T549.  The tester is supplied with these three standards pre-programmed, with a total of ten set-ups available for custom configuration. 

When using NEXYGENPlus material test and data analysis software , the FTPlus may also be configured as a universal material tester to perform tensile, compression, flexural and other mechanical tests up to 1 kN (225 lbf).

The Electro-Thrust Shoe Brakes have been in service for over 10 years. AISE sizes range from 8 inches in diameter up to 30 inch diameter  wheels. Torque values range from 100 foot-pounds to 9,000  ft./lbs.! We also manufacture a line of non-AISE rated brakes. The brakes are spring set for fail-safe operation with an electro-hydraulic actuator that overcomes a setting spring and releases the brake. The actuator is stroked by means of applying power, either AC or DC, to an integral motor attached to a twin cavity housing. The housing is filled with fluid and as the motor spins it creates fluid motion. As the fluid travels through the housing it applies upward pressure to a piston that overcomes the setting spring to release the brake. Cutting power to the motor reverses this function and the spring then gently sets the brake.

Flexsil® and Cerra-Flex® refractory cloth filters serve dual roles in their ability to effectively filter molten metal and to provide a proficient and cost-effective method for de-risering and runner segmentation.

The increase in casting quality comes from filtering out the slag and dross that forms in molten metal during the casting process, increasing end-casting machinability while simultaneously reducing the casting line scrap rate.  Flexsil Silica cloth traps impurities using a method uniquely different than that of competing ceramic filters.  When molten ferrous metals contact the cloth surface, special coating additives decompose to instantly form a continuous film of Fayalite (Fe2SiO4).  This Fayalite coating becomes soft and viscous at high temperatures to entrap even micron sized inclusions as they pass through the filter.  For Magnesium treated ductile iron, the Fayalite coating absorbs Magnesium reaction products (inclusions) contained in the molten metal, and forms lower melting solid solutions on the surface of the Silica fibers.  This helps to trap inclusions on the filter surface, especially the Magnesium dross, sulfides and silicates that are formed by the MgFeSi nodularizing treatment.  Conventional ceramic filters are unable to capture molten metal impurities in this manner.

Decreased casting operational costs can be achieved through a drastic reduction of time and effort usually required for riser removal and runner segmentation.  By placing small cut pieces of Cerra-Flex at both the riser casting contact and in various locations along lengthy runner systems, the traditional need for production line personnel to manually remove the risers and runners using cutting saws and torches after the casting has cooled can be eliminated.  These residual components are instead easily knocked off or come apart by themselves during the shakeout process.       ... more information

Haveg 6800 Furan Resin is a low viscosity, liquid furfuryl alcohol resin designed primarily for use in mortar cements. It is a thermoset resin requiring an acid catalyst to affect a cure. The magnetic DC shoe brakes are spring set and electrically released. The brake is set when 230 VDC power is removed from the brakes coil(s). The type TM brakes electrical mechanism consists of one or two DC magnets. As power is introduced to the coils it creates an electro-magnetic field that brings the coils together to release the brake. Cutting power to the coils allows the spring to extend back to its normal state and sets the brake.  Shunt or series coils are available and rated for continuous or intermittent duty ratings. We also offer single point adjustment on brakes 8 inches in wheel diameter or larger. This speeds up the brake installation and shoe lining wear adjustment by a single point adjusting feature.  Brake wheel diameters of 41/2" to 30" are available, and are AISE rated.   Rectifiers are available for AC operation.

The characteristics of a mixed flow fan combine the high flow of an axial fan with the high pressure of a centrifugal. It provides a solution where combined high pressure and flows are a requirement. The geometry of a mixed flow fan provides a negligible stall characteristic and is ideally suited to applications such as cooling densely packed electronic equipment, or systems having high or variable resistance such as filters. Also because of the impeller geometry mixed flow fans produce less noise compared to axial fans, making them ideal for use in crew or passenger areas.

The NEG'ATOR Constant Force Spring represents the most basic, yet most versatile, type of constant force springs. It is a prestressed flat strip of spring material which is formed into virtually constant radius coils around itself or on a drum. When deflected, the spring material straightens as it leaves the drum. This straightened length of spring actually stores the spring's energy through it's tendency to assume its natural radius.

The full rated load of the Constant Force Spring is reached after being deflected to a length equal to 1.25 times its diameter. Thereafter, it maintains a relatively constant force regardless of extension length. Load is basically determined by the thickness and width of the material and the diameter of the coil.

Fatigue life of NEG'ATOR Constant Force Extension Springs ranges from 2,500 cycles to over a million cycles depending upon the load and size of the spring. Working deflections of 50 times the drum diameter can be achieved. Haveg 4800 Resin is a low viscosity, liquid phenol-formaldehyde resin. It is a typical thermosetting resin requiring either heat or an acid catalyst for conversion to a hard solid that will not melt or soften after conversion. The cured resin is reddish-brown. Chandler Engineering offers a range of products that we call Production Enhancement Instruments. AMETEK Chandler Engineering offers three different lines of Quizix pump systems: the 5000 Series, the 6000 Series, and the QX Series. Each of these three lines include several different models, with different maximum pressure and flow rate specifications.

All Quizix pumps are positive displacement, stepper motor-driven pumps with air-actuated valves. All operate with PumpWorks software, and offer excellent resolution of flow rate and volume and extremely precise pressure control. All models offer pulse-free continuous flow at constant rate, constant pressure, or constant delta pressure.

Our wide range of models offers several key advantages. First, because of the very wide range of flow rate and pressure specifications offered, virtually any experimental requirement can be met by one of our pump models. Second, the user can "mix and match" pump models in a single system. For example, you can use a pair of Q6000 pumps to pump gas (where the high flow rate is needed) and a Q5210 dual cylinder pump system to deliver liquid in the same system. You can also use a QX Series pump together with any 5000 or 6000 pump model.

Third, because all the Quizix models are designed to work together, you can easily change pump models or add to your system, if your requirements change, using the same controller, valves, transducers, computer and PumpWorks software. Plus, because Quzix systems are modular, you can purchase components in different budget years, and add to a system over time. Quizix systems are designed to make it easy to upgrade from a 2-cylinder system to a 4-cylinder system to a 5-cylinder recirculating system.

The 5000 Series: The Industry Standard
The 5000 series was the first line of pump cylinders engineered by Quizix and has become the industry standard for core analysis and related applications. AMETEK Chandler actually manufactures seven different models in this line, although by far the most popular model is the Q5210, a dual cylinder system with a maximum pressure rating of 10,000 PSI (689 bar) and a maximum flow rate of 15ml/minute. Other models in the 5000 Series offer a maximum pressure as high as 20,000 PSI (1,379 bar) or a maximum flow rate as high as 60 ml/minute.

Two 5000 Series pump cylinders are required for continuous flow of a single fluid; a 2-cylinder system is called a Q52XX, where the "XX" indicates the pressure capacity of the system. A system with four pump cylinders, which can pump two fluids continuously, is called a Q54XX, again with the "XX" indicating the pressure capacity. It is important to note, that although the Q5200 and Q5400 are our most popular systems, a pump system using 5000 Series pumps can include any number of cylinders, from one to eight. Systems with an odd number of cylinders usually use one cylinder to provide servo pressure control.

As Table 1 shows, in general there is an inverse relationship between the maximum pressure rating and maximum flow rating of the pump models. Quizix also offers the 5000 Series in a "L" configuration for ultra low flow rates, with different stepper motor resolutions, in response to requests for pumps with even finer flow rate resolution. These models are typically used for applications with very low flow rates.

The 5000 Series "L" models were especially developed for use in capillary pressure tests. Because of the larger stroke volume (the volume of fluid delivered with a single piston stroke), a single cylinder has adequate capacity for all the fluid produced from a normal core sample.

The Ranarex Gravitometer excels over more complex and costly gas analyzers in applications where the specific gravity of the process gas is a direct indication of the gas quality. Performance highlights of a gas gravitometer include simplicity, fast response, accuracy, and very low long-term cost.

AMETEK Reactor Coil Heat Exchangers - made with tubing of fluoropolymer fluorocarbon resin - are used for heating and cooling of corrosive fluids in a wide range of processes and applications. The well-known non-stick characteristics of fluoropolymer resist corrosion and reduce fouling. AMETEK Reactor Coils are designed for immersion directly into the process solution. During agitation, the flexing action of the coils helps reduce fouling and dislodges deposits that may have formed. This and other unique design features make the Model R500 Reactor Coil ideal for crystallizer applications.

Induction Style Relay - The Series 1500 induction style relay with field convertible contacts provides a versatile and reliable liquid level control.  The design also makes the 1500 one of the most durable relays available.  Applications such as pump-control, level alarms and long distance applications can be easily performed with this device.  Available with 1,2 or 3 isolated double break contacts, all rated at 25 amp @ 120V or 240 VAC.  This device is UL & CSA recognized.

The Quizix Q5000 Pump System provides continuous, pulse-free fluid flow even at very high pressures. The Q5000 Pump System has become the industry standard for core analysis and other applications requiring extreme accuracy in flow rates, pressure control, and volume measurements. Operated with PumpWorks software, the 5000 Series offers features not available with any other pump system.

The new SPIR'ATOR extended eye power spring is a design breakthrough offering advantages over conventional prestressed power springs. Alternating layers of eye and spring element product fewer initial prewinds. The result is a more economical spring comprised of thinner, shorter, narrower materials. Improved performance results from the torque increase in the initial turns; this produces a flatter torque curve over the entire working range of the spring.

Scientists have long recognized the need to determine the relationship between physical properties, morphology, chemistry and crystal structure for virtually any man-made or naturally occurring materials. The new VersaSTAT 3F is the newest member of the VersaSTAT family. Although sharing similar specifications to the VersaSTAT 3 (10µs data acquisition, ±650mA current range) and the VersaSTAT 4 (4nA lower current range, enhanced filtering options), the VersaSTAT 3F was designed specifically to operate with earth-grounded cells.

The "F" in the VersaSTAT 3F name is for "floating," a term used to describe the electrical isolation of the systems electrode leads and rear panel connectors from earth ground. The Series 1025 Foot and Palm Switches are industrial rated switches suited for applications where an operator must have both hands free to perform other functions or, where a highly visible switch is required for quick and easy operation.  All of our switches are available in a wide choice of contact arrangements, ratings and enclosure styles.  Industrial duty 4 way 5 port air valves are available for air control circuits.

Intrinsically Safe LDT - The 950IS is an intrinsically safe analog system.  The system uses a remote transmitter mounted in a safe area wired through intrinsically safe barriers to the LDT, which may be mounted in a hazardous area.  The term 'Intrinsically Safe' pertains to a device's inability to produce an electrical spark of enough significance to cause ignition. This system incorporates circuitry that is U.L. listed for use in Class I, Groups C and D, Class II, Groups E, F and G, and Class III hazardous locations.

The CG1100 is a smart sensor capable of detecting oxygen in your sample from 0.1 ppm to 100%. Stainless Steel Clad Aluminum

Stainless steel clad aluminum is a unique engineered material, which is manufactured by roll bonding followed by thermal treatment to produce a strong metallurgical bond.  No intermediate layers are formed.  A layer of relatively pure aluminum is required to effect bonding to the alloy of aluminum.  The aluminum contributes excellent thermal and electrical conductivity to the composite while the stainless steel contributes superior corrosion and abrasion resistance. The bonding of stainless steel to aluminum forms a material with excellent stiffness-to-weight ratio.  Often an economic savings as well as engineering advantages are realized by using the stainless steel aluminum composite.  The composite can be formed, machined, and joined by standard manufacturing techniques.

Because of the unique properties of stainless steel clad aluminum, the potential applications for this material are unlimited.  Presently this material is being used in such diverse applications as:  cooking utensils, aircraft components, transition joints, electronic packaging, and structural application.  Stainless clad aluminum plate also is used for transition joints in cryogenic applications for thermal management devices where a transition from aluminum to stainless steel is desired.  The bond between the stainless steel and aluminum is equal to the shear strength of the aluminum and offers vacuum integrity.

Stainless steel clad aluminum is available as a one-sided clad product, ALCLAD^TM, or as a two-sided clad product, ALCOR^TM.  The range of thickness which can be supplied are typically from .062" to 1".  The ratio of stainless steel to aluminum supplied is established to meet specific customer requirements.  The composites can be provided in widths to 40" and lengths to 120".  Other thicknesses, widths, and lengths can be provided on an individual application basis.  Round blanks of any diameter between 8-3/8" and 23-3/4" are available.

Intrinsically safe, Fail-safe Relay Module - The 5510 is specifically designed to provide an intrinsically safe and economical means of detecting and controlling a wide variety of processing variables in explosive environments.
