Model 572 Meter/Controller

Question
My meter display oflo what does this mean?

Answer
This means the signal into the meter is too high or there is nothing connected to the input of the meter. This maybe caused by a broken or loose wire or a defective transmitter probe.

If water leaks into the transmitter the milliamp signal may exceed 20 mA. This overloads the meter and it will display oflo.

Things to Check

Make sure the cable shield is connected to P1 pin 5 and that this point is connected to an electrical earth ground. Improper grounding will cause erratic and incorrect readings.

Nominal settings for a 572 Meter/Controller with a model 575SB0150RLS setup for drawdown. With the 575 mounted 273 feet below the surface.

OFFSE = -360
SCALE - 0.3466
dp = None

If the display is not reading the correct drawdown after these settings are programmed in, a quick check for the meter is:

Put a shore across the 6.25 ohm resistor on the back of the meter. If the display is OK it will read -360.

If the voltage is OK, to check the power to the transmitter measure the voltage across the red and black wires. This voltage should be 18 to 23 volts DC.

To check the transmitter, connect a milliamp-meter in series with the red wire. The current should be between 4 and 20 mADC and change with a change in water level.
