The refining process uses pressure and temperature measurement products throughout each step of the process. From the Crude Unit and the Coking Unit, to the Alky Unit and Hydrotreaters, pressure gauges and transmitters, diaphragm seals, and temperature measurement products are used to monitor pressure and temperature in the processes. The refinery’s Cogeneration Facility and Wastewater Treatment plant also use pressure, temperature, and submersible level transmitters to insure continuous operation to support the refinery. The
Model 1900 Series process gauges with solid front case design and seamless bourdon tubes provide long term reliability combined with maximum operator safety. The XR-81 All-Welded Process Gauge and Diaphragm Seal is tamper resistant, available NACE compliant, and has a compact footprint to fit into tight locations at the refinery. It is also available in an all Monel version, XR-86, for the Alkylation process. To insure longer life of instrumentation we recommend the Sta-Kool Cooling Element to reduce the temperature of the media before it sees the gauge or transmitter. Diaphragm seals should also be used to protect pressure sensor products from chemicals used in the refinery like sulfuric acid or hydrofluoric acid.
