Application: Pressure measurement of the lift station force main pipe
Location: Lift Station Valve Vaults (large water/wastewater utility in south Florida)
Problem: Continuous Instrument Failure. Loop powered pressure transmitters were constantly damaged by flooding in the valve vaults due to heavy rains.
Solution:
AMETEK model 375F Submersible Pressure Transmitter
The Full Story
A large water/wastewater utility in south Florida was looking for an instrument that could be submerged under water and still provide constant lift station force main pressure measurements and transmissions back to their SCADA system. The utility also required the instrument to have a flush diaphragm process connection to prevent clogging and a 1" male NPT external thread to mate to their manifold. This was not a standard industry product but we listened to the customer’s needs and AMETEK designed the
model 375F Submersible Pressure Transmitter to fit their requirements. We can proudly state that in a very short time, the 375F has eliminated the high costs the utility was experiencing due to continuous instrument replacement and/or repair.
Model 375F Transmitter
The
AMETEK 375F Submersible Pressure Transmitter provides a 4-20 mA signal proportional to the pressure for local display and/or remote monitoring via the SCADA system. Monitoring lift station force main pressure via SCADA provides the operator with valuable diagnostic data and trending regarding pump performance.
